Krista Welch is a photographer and designer by profession. Her natural empathy, ease with people, and eye for her craft has helped her tell stories for families, nonprofits, and small businesses for over a decade. Photography enthusiasts may recognize her as an online workshop host for CreativeLive, a Seattle-based education startup, where she enjoyed geeking out over camera gear and interviewing the photography world's leading educators. Her photos have been featured on NPR and Good Morning America, as well as numerous popular wedding blogs. Currently in a career transition while her daughter is young, she is enjoying studying UX Design.

Some of her life’s most important work includes becoming a family tree sleuth and story holder. And boy, does she have stories for you. After a lifelong search, she met her paternal family in her 30’s, and has learned much about DNA testing and ancestry research since. She continues to be fascinated by her ancestors; telling their stories and and being a bridge between generations.

Just before the 2020 pandemic, she became a parent. Beautiful picture books became dear companions during lockdown, and she’s working on ideas for her own. Her words have been featured on Elephant Journal and Mthr.co. An avid traveler, she’s visited Japan, India (twice!), and Kenya. Next up on her list is seeing the Redwood Forest and hiking the West Highland Way in Scotland.

Krista grew up under Colorado skies, but has called the Pacific Northwest home for nearly two decades. She currently lives in Seattle with her husband and daughter where they enjoy biking around town, and Krista tinkers in her garden.
